With over 25 years experience as a Jungian analyst and many years as a Marriage and Family Therapist, MFT, and as a graduate of the New School for Social Research, Union Theological Seminary, Andover Newton Theological School, the C.G. Jung Institute in N.Y.C, Charles Asher specializes in Jungian analysis, pastoral psychotherapy and marriage and couple counseling. He has lectured and written on the relationship between theology, particularly process theology, and psychology, particularly Jungian psychology.

The novel narrates the story of Simon of Cyrene who is suddenly conscripted to carry the cross of Jesus, and who finds his own transformation on his unexpected path. Simon's Crossing addresses the human issue of how we bear our own unexpected struggles while suddenly required to carry the burdens of others.
